2015 WFO International Forum on Moulding Materials and Casting Technologies was successfully held in Changsha China October 27-28th 2015. The Forum was sponsored by the World Foundry Organization and organized by FICMES and WFO Moulding Materials Commission and marks the first technical conference of the WFO Moulding Materials Commission since its foundation in 2012.
The event attracted extensive attention even from the planning stages. Among many submissions of papers, the conference proceedings selected 37 papers from China, Poland, Germany, USA, Czech Republic and India. These papers cover wide topics of materials and technologies in green sand and chemically bonded processes, new binders and additives, sand reclamation, resin sand testing technologies and apparatus. The latest technical achievements were presented fully to the audience through technical reports and industrial summaries.
WFO General Secretary, Mr. Andrew Turner, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech on October 27th. Fifteen speakers representing enterprises, universities and institutes gave reports and presentations on that same day. The audience of over 140 people consisted of delegates from moulding materials suppliers and foundries, experts and scholars. During the interactive forum on the 28th, representatives of well-known mouding materials suppliers from China and overseas briefed attendees on the development and trend in the market and in technology. Participants benefited from the discussions and questions raised by the audience. In general, Chinese delegates focused more on the new technologies and development in moulding materials while delegates from overseas had the opportunity to understand the market demand and trend of the Chinese foundry industry.
